Received the same scam text requesting my email address. After being asked to make a payment to a courier on their behalf for £300 i knew it would be a scam. After googling the email address it was confirmed here!

Trying to sell a bike on Gumtree and just received a strange text regarding the bike.
This is what I got: "Hi, if the bike is still for sale, pls msg sharonshayluv (at) hotmail. com asap" sap" .
Jumped on here to check the number and really glad I did. Thought it was very strange for someone to test then ask me to reply via email?

I'm dubious of anyone texting and asking me to contact via a Hotmail address especially as they've left the address in a format that you would use on a website that prevents spamming links.
This is what I got: "Hi, if the bike is still for sale, pls msg sharonshayluv (at) hotmail. com asap"
I will not reply to a message like that. And if like it's said they'll want to faff around with PayPal to steal from me. I'm no dope. Normally, the first thing that a real buyer would do it's try haggling down the price. They try to scam on a person's greed. But I don't expect anyone to pay my asking price.
I'm blocking their number.

Be aware, there is a polish scam going around sale sites, they will text ypu that they want to buy your product and will give you a email address. They will try to pull a scam with paying on paypal and will send a fake email that ibcludes a 250 pounds delivery fee for a courier and thei will ask you to go and pay 250 pounds via western union to some randone polish guy. I have akerted the police about this already.
