Whilst not advertised this is a sub office of close brothers and due to an incorrect interest calculation, I got a refund. I called close brothers prior to ensure this office was legitimate. Only £40 pound as a refund but still better in my pocket.

Thought the letter was very odd, not dealt with the company since 2018 and the number didn't look right. So disregarded their number and looked up another on Google for their head office. She said it's all legit and the number on the letter is different because it's for that department. So I rang the number on the letter they said the refund was because of recent internal checks. Around £13 I didn't tell them any bank details they read out my account number and sort code that they had on file from past direct debits and said it would be in my bank in 14 days.

I called them, all seemed legit (he even had my sort code and account number!) and then closebrothers confirmed they don’t text people about refunds. I then proceeded to cancel my card and put extra security measures in with my bank, just in case. I’ve now received a letter, but I really think it’s legit now. They have confirmed the correct date of settlement, the correct plate number and haven’t asked me for any further bank details. If I receive the money I’ll be shocked, but it looks like a possibility!

The bottom of the letter says I entered the agreement with a company other than closebrothers (which I did) and they are acting on behalf of that company. It kinda makes sense cos the garage where I bought the car has now closed down...

If it’s legit I’ll let you all know cos then you’ll all be due some money!

Emailed stating my settlement on a car was under paid. Details look legit but the email states they need bank details to settle the matter. Not willing to give or call just in case it’s a £250 per minute scam.
